Deron Williams: "This is just the Beginning" DAHITMAN U MAD??

Quote:
Deron Williams had his first full contact practice with the Nets Sunday, a week after leaving to be present at the birth of his son, Desmond, and three weeks after the trade brought him East. He says there's not much change in the condition of his wrist, that he'll need more rest after the season ends for it to heal completely.

"Multiple doctors told me that I need 3-4 weeks rest. I don’t know what else I can tell you about my wrist. You can stop asking me," Williams told beat reporters.

Deron also told reporters he was "proud of his team" and "This is just the Beginning." Since being traded the Nets are tops in the NBA in assists (27.2) and rebounds (49.0), second only to the Knicks in scoring (110.5) and third in blocks (6.8). They're also 10th in shooting overall (47.8%) and 14th in three point shooting (37%). One place where they are way behind is steals. They are worst in the NBA.

Eastern Conference scout on Deron Williams' move to New Jersey:

"I really think he'll be much happier over there. They're going to play a little bit more of a wide-open game, use more of his quickness. I know everyone wonders how he's going to get along with Avery [Johnson], but everyone I talk to says he's not as strict as they thought he was going to be. I think [Avery is] going to give him more freedom.

"The biggest thing with [Williams] is that he's obviously not healthy. That wrist is bothering him. But he's been more on the attack [with the Nets] than I've seen him in the past. He knows it's his team and he's getting the freedom to call plays, open the floor up, get in some different kinds of pick-and-rolls that can exploit his speed and quickness.

"He just had to do it in a different way in Utah. [Jerry Sloan] is a system coach, and super successful system coach. And he didn't change that system for anybody, from Karl Malone to now. D-Will was plugged into that system, and they didn't make adjustments for him.

"It can't be argued with because of all the success Utah's had. But this is going to be a breath of fresh air for him."

It was believed that Deron was open to joining Amare in NY but that was before Melo and being traded to the NETS. Those close to Deron have revealed that not only is he open to staying with the NETS but he has grown fond of the idea being the face of their franchise. Deron has little interest in being the third musketeer in NY. One reason he grew tired of Utah was Deron felt that he was not the priority or his opinion didn't matter. The Nets have did the opposite. Deron will not only have a say in the offense (which led to the falling out in Utah)but free agents as well. If you were expecting to see Deron in the orange and blue you are likely in for a huge surprise
