Flirting with PhD idea

Flirting with PhD idea

I'm seriously flirting with the idea of doing a research PhD next year. I've also made up my mind I will do it in the UK as it will take me maximum 3 yrs to finish while in the U.S it would take me minimum 7 years!

I'm not doing it for the money as we all know, one thing many PhD students have in common is dissatisfaction, I know somer that seework as “slave labour”. Seven-day weeks, ten-hour days, low pay and uncertain prospects are widespread and bad enough its sort of like a moden day ACADEMIA SLAVERY where the universities have discovered that PhD students are cheap, highly motivated and disposable labour why? With more PhD students they can do more research, and in some countries more teaching, with less money....and in this day and age economy well...I suspect some of these tutors are doing side hustling of selling essays online anonymously. Just found out that a graduate assistant at Yale might earn $20,000 a year for nine months of teaching some spoilt celebrity wanna be brats. More? apparently average pay of full professors in America was $109,000 in 2009—higher than the average for judges and magistrates!!

But never the less I'm still interested in having that thing

Any PhD students/holders in here?

opinions/criticisms/thoughts are welcome.
