Motorist Tasers Pregnant Woman for Going the Speed Limit

CONCORD, N.H. -- A woman has been charged with assault after a road-rage incident in which a Taser was used on another woman, police said.

Carissa Williams, 22, of Pembroke, was charged with second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police said that on Monday, Williams was involved in a road-rage incident on Interstate 93 at exit 14 in Concord. Investigators said Williams was upset at another driver, a 28-year-old woman, who was traveling 35 mph in a 35 mph zone.

Police said Williams threw cans and bottles out of the car and then got out of her car, leaving her 6-month-old in the vehicle. She then got into the back seat of the other woman's car, pulled out a Taser and used it on the woman, police said.

According to investigators, 911 operators heard the victim yelling and screaming at Williams to stop because she was pregnant. Police said the woman is 10 weeks pregnant, but she and the fetus are fine.

Police said Williams has a lengthy criminal history in four states. She is being held on $100,000 cash bail.
