Blowup sex dolls, sure. But what about sex toys that blow up?

Talk about finishing with a bang. Police in Waseca County, Minn., say Terry Allen Lester, 37, constructed an explosive sex toy that he planned to give to an ex-lover. Lester allegedly put gunpowder, BB pellets and buckshot into the sex toy, which was connected with red and black wires to a battery-powered trigger.

Investigators say they found out about the dangerous device only after a building manager forced Lester to leave an apartment where he had been staying with two women on Dec. 31.

The following morning, the women reportedly called police and said they were concerned about some of the belongings that the suspect had left behind -- especially a container labeled "Christmas Gifts."

Inside the package, Waseca County police and the Bloomington bomb squad say they found a modified sex toy connected by black and red wires to a battery-powered trigger.

Authorities disarmed the device and arrested Lester on felony charges of creation and possession of an explosive or incendiary device, as well as making terroristic threats. If found guilty, he could face up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

Lester isn't the first person accused of turning a sex toy into a weapon. Last November, police in Gurnee, Ill., arrested 56-year-old Carolee Bildsten for allegedly attempting to strike a cop with a "clear, rigid feminine pleasure device."
