Will Rihanna's 'Loud' Tour Be a Flop? Managers Urge Her to Cancel Dates

With the apparent success and visibility of R&B songstress Rihanna nowadays, one would think she could pack an arena with no problem. However, just the opposite seems to be happening. Similar to her 2010 "Last Girl on Earth" tour, which suffered cancellations due to low ticket sales in Phoenix, Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, and Indianapolis, the singer may have to cut some cities from her now "Loud" tour.

Sources say the redhead's day-to-day manager, Jay Brown, has advised her to cancel domestic dates for the tour in light of poor US concert pre-sales last month.

"It has been a big disappointment," reveals a source. "The ticket sales in big US cities like Boston are so bad, they will barely cover basics like the lighting and other arena costs. Tour managers are begging local radio stations to do giveaways."

As of now, Rihanna is scheduled to perform in Boston with Cee Lo Green on July 24th. So far, only 3,700 tickets have been sold but a minimum of 15,000 ticket sales are needed to break even. More than a half-million dollars in losses are expected from the Boston concert if things don't turn around.

"She should've been doing theaters and smaller venues. She's not ready to headline an arena tour," comments an undisclosed insider.

However, an insider from Rihanna's team has stated that although ticket sales are not up to par, the singer is still putting her all into the concert - demanding all the glitz and glamour. "It's the normal diva requests," the insider said, "which is tolerated, when you make money."
