Hawk-Eye is also used in snooker, while football's world governing body FIFA could utilise the tracking system as it looks to introduce technology to rule on goal-line decisions.
Paul Hawkins, inventor of Hawk-Eye, said on Monday the takeover by Sony will create "immense opportunities for the sports industry."
